• Repealed or amended every DC law that could have been used in court to deny marriage equality.
• Co-Introduced the original Marriage Equality bill.
• Held a hearing with more than 200 witnesses, rejecting all attempts to weaken the bill.
• Wrote the final bill, passed it through the Committee he chairs, and moved it through the Council.
